About Us

Children's Angel Flight (CAF) facilitates no-cost or reduced-rate patient travel services for needy child patients and their families. CAF encourages patient transport referrals through the National Patient Travel Center.

Children's Angel Flight donates funding to provide charitable child patient transportation. CAF does not duplicate any of the efforts of any other charity.

Parents use the charitable medical air transportation system for their children to travel to and from distant specialized medical evaluations, diagnosis or treatments. Many patients and their families make multiple trips. Parents are asked to verify financial need and the patient's primary physician will be asked to sign a form indicating that the travel is for essential and necessary medical care.

Parents may access help supported by CAF by calling 1-800-296-1217. Information specialists will talk with the parents and determine the exact travel need and then refer them to the best type of assistance.

Nationally, scores of child patients travel every month through these charitable or reduced-rate means - making it possible for them to get the best possible specialized care and the best chance for life. CAF helps fund child patients traveling to medical institutions all over the United States including:

  • University of Florida, Clinical Research Center
  • Eastern Virginia Medical School
  • National Institutes of Health
  • John Hopkins Hospital
  • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
  • Children's Hospital of Washington
  • More than 100 other children's hospitals..

Parents no longer need turn down the option for specialized care at some distant medical facility for their children due to the lack of a financial means to travel for the treatments. CAF help provided to charitable transport organizations makes this possible.
